Nina had been caring for her mother since 1999. During that time, she stopped caring for herself. After hearing a presentation by
Community LIFE, her and her mother both signed up together. Since joining, Nina has lost 200 pounds, by learning about food, being more
active, doing her therapies and keeping her attitude positive. Nina attends the Day Center 2 days a week, and has been able to participate
in church again, receiving new glasses, new dentures and a new stress-free outlook.

| "Community LIFE has given me back my identity as myself. They are interested in you, they encourage you, they are gentle and have given me back my life."
Nina is still caring for her mother. Community LIFE has made that part much easier. They've also helped lower her mother's medications from 17 per day down to only 4 per day. They assisted in rearranging her mother's apartment for better care and mobility plus gave them the idea of a baby monitor so Nina could sleep in her own
apartment but still keep a watch over her mother.
"To see my mother getting on the shuttle, by herself, and seeing her feel safe and confident, without me, is nothing short of amazing."
Nina has two daughters, one whom is stationed in Belgium. With the help of Community LIFE, Nina may someday be paying her a visit. |
