Community LIFE is celebrating 25 years of keeping seniors independent and in their homes. This year’s 25th anniversary theme is all about “My Community LIFE” to honor the people and the communities that support these seniors.
With the services that Community LIFE provides, older adults are able to participate in activities that have been important to them since their youth, when they were 25 themselves. Community LIFE will be celebrating with a ribbon-cutting, March 13, 2025, at their McKeesport Center; the event will run from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and is open to the public.
This journey began back in 1994, when Pittsburgh Care Partnership was established as a nonprofit to support health and human services for the elderly. In 2000, the first new LIFE center opened in McKeesport, and the strong enrollment led to expansions and more center openings in the next 25 years, for a total of eight centers across the region today.
