Summary of Job Duties:

Qualifications:

Summary of Job Duties:
A full-time Geriatrician is sought for Community LIFE, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, in the Pittsburgh region. The Geriatrician is responsible for managing the medical care of the PACE program participants across the health care continuum and is an integral member of an Interdisciplinary Team, which continually assesses each patient, develops and provides a comprehensive (social, medical, spiritual) plan of care. The position requires an individual with a demonstrable grasp of chronic illness management and palliative medicine. The qualified physician shall have the leadership skills to lead the team and explain medical decision-making to the team, the participant and their caregivers.
The clinician will join colleagues in the Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh who have a passion for patient care, quality improvement and scholarly activity. Ample educational opportunities are available as well, since the division provides geriatric education to trainees at all levels, including teaching in all four years of the medical school, required rotations for residents in internal medicine and other disciplines, and a fellowship program in geriatric medicine.
