Exercise can improve Brain Function

Education Series by Randy Hebert, MD, Medical Director

I suspect we have all heard the term “having a senior moment” to refer to briefly forgetting something. Many of us worry about our thinking or “getting dementia.”

The good news is that having memory problems is not inevitable as we age. More specifically, recent research shows that physical exercise can improve brain function in the elderly.

This is good news. We can do something to improve our brain health. Community LIFE can also help in this respect as our teams include physical therapists who design exercise plans for each of our participants.
