Health benefits of exercise: the evidence
Education Series by Randy Hebert, MD, Medical Director
I think we are all aware that exercise is good for us. What is surprising is how good.
Exercise not only helps prevent heart attacks, strokes, and diabetes. It also helps prevent cancer, depression and dementia.
Not only that, it seems that any exercise is better than none—even a little exercise can help. We don’t have to join a gym and run miles. Even light exercise that can be done at home may be helpful.
Community LIFE takes this information seriously. That is why our centers have physical and occupational therapists on staff to help you develop an exercise program that works for you.
