Singing and Health

Education Series by Randy Hebert, MD, Medical Director

We often think that medications are necessary to improve health. Not necessarily.

More research is demonstrating that singing can improve health. Singing is as old as man—40,000-year-old bone and ivory flutes have been discovered.

Singing is associated with lower blood pressure, less stress, and a greater feeling of satisfaction.

Plus, it costs nothing and has no side effects.

We are hardwired to sing − and it’s good for us, too
